Located approximately 100 miles northwest of Denver/Boulder area we are literally in the heart of the Rockies.
How We Began
This is an original company history - updated a bit.
Colorado has called many travelers to the beauty of its mountains. It was the summer of 1939 that found two such travelers beside a mountain stream. The bank of the stream was literally covered with rocks.
As Mable C Middlesworth and her pharmacist husband D.W. Middlesworth paused to admire the beauty, the name and idea TASTE OF THE ROCKIES was born. They found a factory, which could transform their rock collection gathered that day into a souvenir rock candy.
Literally hundreds of tons of TASTE OF THE ROCKIES have been sold over nearly 70 years as other travelers continue to enjoy the beauty of our mountains. The candy is now sold under many different labels appropriate for all parts of the country, making it possible for every traveler to enjoy our "Colorado rocks".
